A Difficult Home Race at the 8 Hours of Spa for the 2nd Round of the FIM EWC Qualifying placed the team in 7th position on the starting grid. Right from the start of the race, Florian Marino delivered an exceptional performance by gaining three places and positioning himself among the leading group. Behind the three factory bikes, the pace was very high, and the #99 Yamaha rider took all the risks to stay in contact. Unfortunately, a crash that occurred just fifteen minutes into the race required a 14-minute pit stop for repairs, relegating the team to the last position among the 37 participants. From that moment on, there was only one goal: to make up for the lost time. Riders Randy de Puniet, Florian Marino, and Jérémy Guarnoni demonstrated an excellent pace, gradually climbing up the rankings. However, a second crash due to an electronic failure shortly after mid-race once again slowed their progress. After eight hours, the KM99 team finished in 16th position. « We cannot hide our disappointment given the pace we had, which suggested a much better result », said Mario Kupper, Team Manager. « The goal of a top 5, or even better, was within our reach with the various race incidents. » Gaëtan Schyns : « Our technical team has once again demonstrated their professionalism and the level of our private team. I am proud to be able to rely on them » The disappointment is even greater since this race took place at home, in front of a large crowd that came to support the team. « We would like to thank all our fans for their encouragement as well as our partners for their continued support. » Despite everything, the team scored 11 points in the championship. After two rounds, KM99 is in 9th place in the overall standings with a total of 29 points. The next round of the championship is set for July 21st on the Suzuka circuit in Japan, where the team hopes to bounce back and reward themselves for their efforts.
